Friendships

Backseat of car conversation with Duncan:
"I know you're going to like Konstantin because he likes Legos. His family makes the best dinners when I go there on Tuesday. His mom makes chicken and the spices she puts on it are sooooo yummy, the chicken just pops in the back of my neck. Konstantin's sister chases me and tries to kiss me and I really hate that. Except sometimes I like it."

Awesome Dudes

They are the Awesome Dudes Club.  Their bylaws include that Awesome Dudes Are Polite.  Their motto is Dudes Don't Die.  Their logo is d^3.  Cora Duncan ian Danny ivan Alex all members.  Alex convinced Ian that german cassette tapes are laser weapons.  Danny and Alex were racing around with a hobby horse reindeer and spy goggles while Ian played an eastern european dirge on the melodica.

When I asked if the piece he played had a name he said "i can only play it with one hand."  When i said yes but does it have a name?  He said "that IS its name!!!  'I can only play it with one hand!'"

I'm a heavy metal eater!

7 year old style

Personal style is being developed.
Alex has been growing out his hair for over a year, and has decided for the last month that he wants it shaved on one side and rainbow on the other.

So yesterday we did it.
He got a little nervous but he's off to school this morning proudly showing it off.

He also continues to be a super intuitive kid, knowing and responding to what other people are feeling. This week when big brother had trouble and the parents were stressed responding, we all got notes of support and love from Alex.
