Rainbow

4:15 a.m.

(Crying) "Mommy!  Mommy!  Mommy!"

(mom runs in)  "Hi sweetie, I'm here, are you OK?"

(sniffles) "I need help."

"What do you need?"

"I need a rainbow."

". . . ok, sweetie (pats back), I'm going to go look for one for you.  I love you, I'll be back. . . "

"OK mommy, I love you."

Number Five

"I need to go to a potty!" (runs toward bathroom)
"Go in the other one! Ivan's in there, he's going number two."

"But I going number FIVE!"
Alex
Tonight "helped" set the table by filling everyone's bowl half full of hot chili sauce. Good thing nobody tasted the "soup" before we figured it out. Never a dull moment.

Silly

I found a bottle of baby oil near the bath and squeezed it all into the water, and now Ivan and me are all oily.

Ivan

I love my brother. I run to him at school when I'm scared or worried, and I say "I need you Ivan I need you."

He comes into my bed when I'm crying an makes me feel better.

Yesterday I hugged him and told him he's my best friend. It's true, he is.

I'm going to miss him at school when he goes to kindergarten.

Almost three!

I am talking a lot now.
I say "silly guy mommy!!! Silly guy Ivan!!!"
I love making jokes.

"yucky poop!". Is one.

"you Mary Kat, Daddy! You Ivan, mommy!" is another one.
I sing abcs. Tonight I loudly sang abcs to sleep.

I love love love Ivan. I say "Hi Ivan! Doing Ivan? Yay Ivan can do it!". I am his biggest fan.

He likes to help me. Both for fun like when dad is tickling me and I yell "Safe me! Ivan, safe me!". And the. He pulls me away and I say "thanks Ivan" in a really relieved voice

And when I'm mad at mommy because he wants me to clear my plate or put away my toy and I won't do it. Then Ivan does it and I stop crying and run and hug and pat him and say "thank you Ivan."

Every day I announce at dinner time "I had good day! Play Marisa house! Play Signe Maya! Play Davan! Play Duncan! Play Bowen Gage-y!". I say "I love Oma, and grandpa! Love mommy! Love daddy! Love Ivan! Love Chris!"

I am super affectionate to babies and grown ups. I tell Sarah "love you Sarah! Sarah I miss you! I cried."

Sometimes when I'm tired I say "I cry mommy. I sad. Why? Because...dangerous.". Then I laugh.

I also say "I mad" and "I grumpy.". Saying these things helps mommy understand why I act upset.

I love any toy with a hook, like cranes or tow trucks or my pirate hook or a coat hanger.

I like to dress up. This pillowcase was my idea for a "beau-ful cars dress!". Mommy helped with the suspenders.
