I am mommy's internal alarm clock.
At 6:45, right before Ivan wakes up, I start squirming all over the place.
We went to the doctor and Mommy got to see me. It was neat, she saw my little eyes and nose.
I'm head down for now, but still wiggling alot.
I might be bigger than Ivan. The doc won't guess, but mommy thinks so and the doc says that mommies are usually right.

Rockin' and Rollin'
Man, am I active. I have kept Mommy up at night a few times, just moving the belly around and making bellyquakes.
I kick back sometimes when poked, and get especially wiggly when the belly gets flat (like when Mommy lies down).
My due date isn't for a few months yet, but I'm already making Mommy walk funny and sigh a lot.
Oh, and thank goodness Mommy passed her gestational diabetes test; I really like sweets, milk and ice cream.

26 weeks
Apparently now I measure about 9.2 inches from crown to rump and weigh almost 2 pounds. My hearing is fully developed, so I've been reacting to sounds -- sometimes even kicking hard when mommy says "Dance, baby, dance!."
My lungs are growing but are not yet mature. I have patterns of sleeping and waking, which mom notices tend to go with meals -- after a meal, I wiggle. Later on, and before the next meal, I get quiet.
Mom's complaining about reflux, and is awkward moving around, but otherwise doing OK. She does seem sleepy and moodier, but it's hard to tell if that's just her right now.

bigger and bigger
According to WebMD, I'm about 8 inches from crown to rump and I weigh almost 1 pound. My body is starting to look more like a newborn, but my skin is still wrinkled as more weight is to be gained.
Mommy feels way more pregnant than she is. Aches and pains, awkward movements, reflux stuff. And my kicking is strong enough to be distracting, now -- just like Ivan, I do it a lot in court.
This year, for Halloween I was going to be a soccerball...well, the belly was. But then we ran out of time. Still, it was fun when Ivan was helping draw on the belly the night before.

I'm a BOY! Mommy got all emotional when she found out. Somehow, being one or the other seems to be a big deal. Now she's putting away the girl baby clothes, folding and sorting the boy baby clothes, and talking about how she'll stay the Queen Bee in a house full of boys.
Yay for boys!
I know my brother's going to be excited. Right now, he just says "Baby brother" and kisses mommy's tummy. Sometimes he looks confused and says "sister?" because she used to tell him it was a baby "brother or sister." But he'll figure it out.
I can kick harder now, hard enough to make mommy pay attention and hard enough to make the belly wiggle.
We had my 20 week ultrasound, where they look at my brain and internal organs and stuff, and they seemed to think I'm all healthy so that's good. And mommy thinks I have her feet, just like big brother -- second toe bigger than the big toe. Yay for the roundfoot boys!

Week 17

The internet says I measure about 4.4 to 4.8 inches from crown to rump and have doubled in weight in the last two weeks to about 3.5 ounces. I'm beginning to form fat, helping my heat production and metabolism. My lungs are beginning to exhale amniotic fluid, and my circulatory and urinary systems are working. Hair on head, eyebrows and eyelashes is filling in.
An exciting time, no?
Mommy's been having more symptoms, too. Seems to want to eat more Taco Bell, which is tasty but probably not best for me in large quantities. Achy joints. Her ankles are swelling just a bit, and she got lightheaded the other day at a grocery store and had to lie down. She forgets to eat, usually because she's running after Ivan, and that just doesn't work out well. I need food!
Just like Ivan, I seem to be particularly active in court, doing flips and contortions and kicks.
Our next picture-viewing session is in a few weeks, and they should be able to see my gender then. Mommy kind of leans toward thinking I'm a girl, for no real reason. Daddy thinks I'm a boy, just based on Watson family statistics.

Kick, kick, KICK!
I kicked mommy, and this time both mommy and daddy noticed! I thought that might have been his hand pushing on the belly, so I gave it a couple of good solid kicks. He said "hey, I felt that." Hooray!
Mommy seems to be having a harder time moving around now, has to sit down and take rests.
Ivan blows me very, very sloppy loud kisses on the belly, and said "HI BABY"
He gave the belly a hug yesterday.
I can't wait to play with him.

12 weeks!
This is a milestone, we're out of the first trimester! Hopefully that means mommy will be feeling better...it already seems like she's more energetic and less gloomy. Plus, I haven't been making her nauseous as much, I think that will help with our bonding process.
Tomorrow's kind of a big day for me -- a long photo session, and they'll be checking my nucal translucency...apparently that's important.

I can pee now
I'm about twelve weeks along.
My fingernails are starting to grow.
My heart goes swoosh swoosh swoosh.
I am the size of a large lime.
I might be a girl or I might be a boy, my genetalia is distinguished. I mean, distinguishable.
Not that many people really know I'm here.

Preferences.
Mommy asked big brother if he wants me to be a little brother or a little sister.
"Brother? Sister?" he repeated. Then... "SOCCERBALL!"
Maybe this explains why he keeps trying to kick me.
(Or maybe he's just used to being allowed to jump on mommy's tummy before now)
At least now I know what to give him as a "big brother" gift.
In other news: I should be about the size of a grape right now, my fingers and toes getting longer. Looking forward to revealing myself on the ultrasound in a couple of days. Working on making my heartbeat nice and strong, so they'll see it!
